Agatha All Along: Release Date & Everything We Know So Far About New MCU Show
One of the most powerful witches is coming.
Soon Agatha All Along is coming to Disney+. Here's everything we know about the WandaVision spinoff.
What Happened in WandaVision?
A grief-stricken Wanda Maximoff travels to the small town of Westview, where she and Vision had planned to build a home before Thanos attacked. Unwittingly, Scarlet Witch creates the illusion of a perfect life where Vision is alive and they have children. Wanda no longer experiences grief because she has magically made the people of Westview feel the pain instead of her.
Noticing Wanda's power, the witch Agatha Harkness poses as her neighbor Agnes in an attempt to understand the source of Maximoff's powers and take them for herself.
At the end of WandaVision, the Scarlet Witch frees all the residents of Westview except Agatha, who tried to steal her magic.
What Will Agatha All Along Be About?
According to the plot of the series, the sorceress Rio Vidal will free Agatha from the curse, but Harkness will lose her powers after a clash with the Scarlet Witch. Therefore, she will have to perform a ritual to get them back. Billy Kaplan will help Agatha with her mission.
According to a popular theory, Billy is the reincarnation of one of Wanda's sons who disappeared in WandaVision. In the Marvel comics, Wanda's sons were reborn, which could happen again in the cinematic universe.
Agatha Harkness' Comic History & Powers
The character has her own comic history, which began in 1970. Salem witch, one of the most powerful on Earth, governess of Franklin Richards, teacher of Wanda Maximoff – this is how she is portrayed in the comics.
She has teleportation, hypnosis, thought transmission, can create illusions and energy projections, can manipulate extra-dimensional energy, and can summon otherworldly creatures from dimensions adjacent to Earth with spells. Like any decent witch, Agatha has a familiar – a black cat named Ebony who can transform into a large, ferocious black panther.
Another WandaVision Spinoff In in the Works
There is also a WandaVision spin-off in development, Vision Quest, written by Agatha All Along creator Jacqueline Schaeffer.
The project will tell the story of the White Vision, a version of the Synthezoid that has been restored at the S.W.O.R.D. base. In the finale of WandaVision, he left Westview after regaining his memories.
