Adorable Young Sheldon Theory Sheds Light On Sheldon And Penny's Relationship
Penny always meant much more to Sheldon than you would think.
The Big Bang Theory audience has always been very fond of how some of the friendships have been portrayed on the show.
One of the most notable of course would be Howard and Raj's, another would be that between Bernadette, Amy, and Penny, all so different yet able to find a lot in common.
One character who usually struggled the most with being a good friend and sometimes a decent human being in general was always Sheldon Cooper.
The excessive amount of rules and the brashness of his jokes, which were borderline offensive half the time, did not help Sheldon's case.
If anything, viewers often found his character annoying, and we can only imagine how tired and angry his actual friends would be.
But even Sheldon had a soft spot for someone. And thank God he did, because Penny somehow managed to make him a better person.
But how сome he finds this girl next door, so clearly not his usual type of friend, worthy of even listening to her?
Some fans of The Big Bang Theory who also watched the prequel to the series, Young Sheldon, have their own adorable theory about it.
Since the prequel is supposed to tell viewers a bit more about Cooper's family, his upbringing, and what shaped his personality, we should be able to get a glimpse of younger Sheldon's reactions to older Sheldon.
One adorable theory suggests that Sheldon was always so close to Penny because he saw her as the equivalent of his own sister, Missy.
It may not have been so obvious in the original series, since Missy's character was not a recurring one and rarely appeared to be so thoroughly analyzed.
But even then, it was obvious enough that she was Sheldon's polar opposite, which is strangely similar to Penny herself when you think about it.
They both know how to attract men, have a cheeky sense of humor, and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.
Young Sheldon's Missy was just further proof of how similar these two characters really are. It would make sense for Sheldon to feel some familiarity with his new neighbor and to let his guard down rather easily.
