ABC Cuts Abbott Elementary In Half: What Prompted the Schedule Changes?
And what does that mean for season 4?
Summary:
- With the release of its new schedule for the 2024/2025 broadcast season starting this fall, ABC has stirred the emotions of quite a few fandoms.
- Both Grey's Anatomy and Abbott Elementary have lost their timeslots to make room for new series.
- So Abbott Elementary Season 4 will still happen, but it will be shortened to make more time for The Golden Bachelorette.
The best thing about television is that it is constantly changing to better suit the interests of its audience. However, there are many dangers behind these changes, as they sometimes result in the popular shows being cut short, moved to the least attractive time slot, or even canceled altogether.
These changes coming from one of the ‘big four’ cable TV networks, ABC, are already making fans of Grey's Anatomy and Abbott Elementary lose their minds over the new 2024/2025 schedule in which their favorite shows have gotten the shorter end of the stick. Here's what's in store for Abbott Elementary fans this fall.
Is Abbott Elementary Renewed for Season 4?
The good news is that Abbott Elementary has been renewed for its 4th season, which means that the show will be back this fall. Although no official premiere date has been announced yet, it's safe to assume that the show will premiere its new season sometime between September and November.
As of today, there's also no information on how many episodes the show will get. What we do know is that Abbott Elementary's block will be cut in half, with only one episode airing at a time. Quinta Brunson's sitcom will air every Wednesday at 9:30pm, right after an hour and a half of The Golden Bachelorette.
This means that the season will either be shorter than usual or have a longer run. We will have to wait and see which one that will be.
The Golden Bachelorette, a reality show that will run from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., is a female-led spin-off of The Golden Bachelor. This season will be the first for the show, but that doesn't mean you won't see familiar faces.
If you are a fan of the franchise, you will recognize the bachelorette herself, Joan Vassos, who was a contestant on The Golder Bachelor, but now wants to try her luck at love in a different format. If you are interested to tune in to the show from the very beginning, make sure to not miss the premiere on September 1 on ABC.
