Rian Johnson's crime saga starring Daniel Craig is nearing its release, and Netflix finally shared upcoming film's title – 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery'.
Netflix has shocked the world with its incredibly expensive decision ($469 million) to acquire the rights to two sequels to 'Knives Out ', the first of which is set to premiere later this year. Craig will reprise his role as private investigator Benoit Blanc in the film, while Edward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista and Ethan Hawke will star in undisclosed roles. Johnson has already announced that the upcoming film will be unrelated to the first, featuring an entirely new mystery for Blanc to solve.
In a discussion on Reddit fans were quick to acknowledge that the title 'Glass Onion' is a direct reference to a famous The Beatles song, which is perfectly in line with Johnson's creative tradition, since the original title was taken from a Radiohead song. But the mysteries surrounding the film's title don't seem to end there.
According to one user, the song 'Glass Onion' was written by John Lennon as some sort of a nod to The Beatles fans trying to find secret meaning in everything he writes. Others continued this line of discussion, concluding that another famous song by the iconic band might lead to the same assumption.
