Summary:
- To say that 911 's comeback on ABC has already impressed both loyal stans and casual viewers would be an understatement.
- The cruise tragedy, which has been unfolding for two episodes now, has everyone fearing for the lives of Bobby and Athena, who are trapped on the ship.
- Peter Krause, who portrays Bobby on the show, admits that the tension was so high that he almost hoped the show would actually end Bobby and Athena's lives there.
Usually, TV show fans don't like to be wrong in their assumptions about what's to come. However, in the case of 911's move to ABC and all that it meant for the cast and their respective characters, viewers are happy to admit that they were too quick to judge the network by its standards.
From the massive effort put into promoting the new series to teasing the most anticipated on-screen relationships, the ABC team has done a lot to set 911 up for success on the network.
Though some fans feared that season 7 might be the last due to the changes ABC will be making, it's now clear that the network has as much hope in the show's survival as viewers do. But what about the characters? Will everyone live to see another season, or should we prepare to say goodbye to someone sooner rather than later?
The massive cruise ship disaster has kept 911 fans on the edge of their seats since the first episode of the new season. Even the cast admits they have mixed feelings about it.
Bobby and Athena in 911 Season 7
While there's something undeniably exciting and compelling about the scope of the case that 911's team of first responders faces in the opening episodes of season seven, it's also very frightening. Of course, at this point, viewers are used to being afraid for one member of the team or another, but this time the stakes are higher than ever.
Not only is this one of the biggest tragedies 911 has ever seen, but the two characters who ended up in the middle of it are fan favorites that no one is ready to lose.
Although, speaking to TheWrap, Peter Krause, who portrays Station 118 Captain Robert Nash, admitted that he's been thinking about how impressive and impactful the double death could have been:
“As an audience member, you almost hope they die together. I was filming it and thinking, ‘Let’s just Romeo and Juliet this thing right now.’ I know the show’s gotta go on, but we’re never going to be able to top this,” the actor said.
Fortunately for all fans of the couple, this did not happen. Both Bobby and Athena managed to survive the catastrophe so far, but as Krause teases, it's not an event that will go down without casualties. Let's just hope that we don't see any of the main cast members go so soon.
If you're hooked on this massive on-screen disaster and want to find out who won't survive it, be sure to tune in to 911 on March 28 on ABC. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes updates on one of the most gripping procedurals on television.
