Let the viewers see the story you're trying to sell.

There was a good reason 911 became as popular as it did: to put it bluntly, it was good. It had a fresh feel that procedural dramas often lack.

It had great characters, a balance between the drama and the cases that was just right, and well-written humor to top it off.

However, as the seasons went on, 911 slowly started to turn into just another drama you see on TV. The pacing of the episodes started to slow down, which only made the viewers less tense and invested in the fate of the victims.

All the scandals and heartbreaks within the main characters just felt exhausting.

The show reached its peak of hate in seasons 5 and 6, with the latter's finale bringing in the worst ratings in history. Fortunately, this was not the end of 911, as the show was picked up and moved to ABC for another season.

With the change in the network, fans are hoping for some major changes in the quality of the show as well.

Although skeptical, many say they would likely return to the show if it brought back the essence of the earlier seasons.

And one of the things ABC will have to learn to do is to stop relying so much on the imagination of the viewers and start showing things as they were on the screen.

Everyone understands the struggle of trying to fit a story into a limited-time episode, but there are some things that fans can do without if it helps the storytelling aspect.

911 does not need as much comedic relief as the writers seem to think it does.

We could live without Buck's sequence of running down the street to get to the sperm donor clinic, no matter how epic it was, if it meant they could fit in something more meaningful.

The stories should be told out loud, and not left for the viewers to rethink all the time.

There is no official word on the release date for 911 season 7, other than that the show will be pushed to midseason with all other ABC dramas due to the writers' strike.
