Don't forget to bring a box of tissues or you'll end up in a puddle of tears.

We still consider the '90s a golden era for heartfelt and emotionally resonant films. From romantic dramas to coming-of-age tales, the decade produced numerous films that continue to tug at our heartstrings with each rewatch.

Here's a list of '90s movies that after all these years have the power to make us cry our hearts out over and over again.

1. The Green Mile (1999)

The film that traumatized generations. Based on the novel by Stephen King, The Green Mile follows the journey of death row corrections officer Paul Edgecomb, Tom Hanks, and his bond with wrongly accused inmate John Coffey, Michael Clarke Duncan.

John's execution left such a heart-wrenching impact on us that we still choke in tears every time we rewatch the movie. His pure and innocent soul didn't deserve it all.

2. Titanic ( 1994)

Do we really need to explain this one? The romance between the passengers of the third and first class, Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater, on a ship that was doomed to perdition — this even sounds heart-rending.

Not only is the audience transported to the most horrific shipwreck in history, but it is also denied a happy ending for the main characters at the end of the film.

The fact that Jack and Rose found and lost each other within a few days is another level of pain.

3. My Girl (1991)

The movie that tore us apart. The heartbreaking journey of Thomas and Vada, played by Macaulay Culkin and Anna Chlumsky in the 1991 film, leaves viewers emotionally shattered as they observe the characters' bond of youthful innocence and budding romance.

Vada's final goodbye at Thomas' funeral altered our brains so much that a little piece of us stayed with him at that cemetery.

4. Armageddon (1998)

Damn it, Bruce, why did they have to sacrifice you like that?

If you can sit through Bruce Willis' character saying goodbye to his daughter when he decides to blow himself up inside the asteroid to save her fiancé and the Earth, then your nerves are made of steel.

This scene, the actors, the movie itself — all these years later, this combination remains a masterpiece of cinematography.

5. The Lion King ( 1994)

The lesson of the circle of life that we would never want to learn as children. Mufasa's tragic death is still one of the most heartbreaking moments of our childhood.

Scar not only took his brother's life but also made Simba believe he was responsible for killing his father. The audience went through hell, but the thought of what it must have been like for Simba during all those years breaks our hearts in half.
