It’s the only way to cope with trauma.

Anyone who has watched Grey's Anatomy knows how intense this show can be. No matter who you're rooting for and how well things seem to be going for them, it's best not to get attached at all if you don't want to be horribly disappointed in the end.

However, all the drama, breakups, and deaths are mixed with much more wholesome storylines to balance everything out. From sweet romantic moments to hopeful medical cases with surprising happy endings, Grey's Anatomy also knows how to make you feel good. And laugh a lot, too.

Here are 8 of the funniest Grey's Anatomy moments, perfect for blowing off steam.

“If it makes you feel any better, he banged my mom too.”

Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is a place for all kinds of drama, and it doesn't help that Dr. Webber is still on staff. Somehow, this man has an insane attraction to all the residents' mothers, and now they're left to bond over their shared trauma.

That's what you get for not letting this man retire, even though he's been asking for it for 20 years.

“I’m trying to look at Bailey’s teets on the Internet.”

It's understandable that some people struggle with technology and social media, so no one could really blame Dr. Webber for not being fully on board with Twitter. However, it's very important to get the terminology right so you don't end up being completely misunderstood. It's a good thing Hunt didn't go straight to HR.

“This man is a wh*re.”

If there's one character who absolutely deserves to be talked down to by Miranda Bailey, it's Mark Sloan. He needed to learn to respect the women who work with him one way or another, and Bailey, along with all the nurses, taught him an important lesson.

Even funnier, she didn't even lie about his antics, so in the end he had nothing to be mad about.

“Someone in this hospital is sleeping with our husband.”

Given Dr. Webber's history, it was fair for his wife to assume that he was cheating on her with someone at the hospital. However, if he thought he could hide from his real wife Adele, it was definitely not wise to hide when she came in duet with Dr. Miranda Bailey, his work wife. The two women were truly a force of nature.

“Dude, she’s Callie O’Malley”

Say what you will about Alex Karev and his character development over the years on the show, but you have to hand it to him: he has always been funny.

While everyone else stood in complete awe of George and Callie's surprise announcement, Alex took it upon himself to be the comedic relief of the moment. Which was much needed, given all the tension.

“This message was brought to you by the Harper Avery Foundation of America.”

There is nothing funnier than an improvised moment that fits right into the flow of the show. Thanks to Sandra Oh and her quick portrayal of Cristina Yang, we have one of the funniest moments of the whole show. And even if the impov part is not confirmed, you can clearly see Ellen Pompeo and Jesse Williams trying hard to hold back their laughter.

“The one with the juice box.”

Even though it was one of the funnier parts of Mark Sloan's interaction with Shepherd's mother, the whole dialogue created a dynamic that deserved to be explored more.

A grown man being scolded for nearly microwaving his best friend's frog, stealing his best friend's wife, and sleeping with the very young sister of his best friend's girlfriend is something to remember forever.

“McDreamy was doing the McNasty with McHottie? That McBastard!”

Even though the Mc-labels weren't really George's cup of tea, he did his best to pretend to be Cristina for Meredith and give her the best reaction he could. Though a little awkward, that line alone deserves to be one of the best things George O'Malley has ever done on Grey's Anatomy.
