These are some classic "What were they thinking?” moments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While we certainly admire Marvel characters for their bravery and resilience most of the time, there are times when their decisions leave us baffled, questioning their logic and reasoning.

Even though without questionable choices, the MCU wouldn't be as thrilling and unpredictable as it is, let’s look back at these dumb decisions that left us facepalming.

Obadiah Stane’s Missed Shot

The antagonist of the very first MCU movie, Iron Man, Obadiah Stane, could have just shot Tony in the head. But where's the fun in that, right?

Star-Lord's Emotional Outburst

Remember when Star-Lord, in a fit of rage, punched Thanos just as the team was about to snatch the gauntlet off his hand? That was a classic facepalm moment. If only he had kept his emotions in check, things might have turned out differently.

Peter Parker and Doctor Strange 's Memory Wipe

Peter Parker asked Doctor Strange to wipe everyone's memory without even attempting to call the college. Dr. Strange casting a spell that could potentially rip holes in the universe, all for the sake of some teenagers getting into their first choice college, was a bit over the top.

That's not exactly the smartest decision, but without it, we wouldn’t have seen three Spideys together.

Drax's Call for Trouble

Drax, in his typical style, ended up calling Ronin's army in Guardians of the Galaxy. Not the best decision when you're trying to stay under the radar, right?

Peter's Trust in Mysterio

Peter Parker giving EDITH to Mysterio right after meeting him without doing a background check was naive, to say the least. A little more caution could have saved a lot of trouble.

Nick Fury's Absence

Nick Fury leaving Earth and allowing it to be more or less taken over from within was a questionable decision. And then, after "addressing" the problem, he left the world again while a huge new problem was showing up.

Sylvie's Fatal Decision

Sylvie killing He Who Remains in Loki might turn out to be the dumbest decision. It puts the entire multiverse at risk and births countless Kang variants.
