7 Stupidest Moments in Supernatural That Still Make Us Roll Our Eyes
This show is not meant to be taken seriously.
If you google Supernatural, you will find that the most common way the show is described on the Internet is as “dark fantasy with elements of horror and thriller.” The truth is that the show is as much a comedy as anything else.
And that makes sense: without a little humor here and there, the Dean and Sam Winchesters would drive each other crazy faster than they would fight a single demon. However, there is a very fine line between humor and stupidity, and Supernatural has crossed it far too many times.
Here are the top 7 Supernatural moments so stupid that some fans still cannot watch them without getting annoyed.
Guns’ Abandonment
The craziest thing that has ever happened to the Winchester brothers must’ve been one time the demons were so stupid they dropped their guns and decided to fight them combat-style instead. Being in the middle of nowhere in the U.S., they could’ve easily shot them on sight.
Apple Vs. Quince
When Crowley tries to correct Castiel about the nature of a forbidden fruit, it doesn’t look smart, it looks ridiculous. Not only did Castiel live for twice as long as Crowley did, surrounded by this lore, he was actually there to witness the act itself.
Everyone’s A Demon
Speaking of Castiel’s smarts, it’s also pretty hard to believe he didn’t realize he was surrounded by demons in the bar at the beginning of season 14. Surely, being an angel should’ve granted him some ability to spy on the darkness, especially when he’s completely surrounded by it.
Sam’s Haircut
Throughout the series, Sam’s haircut was an ongoing joke that fans liked to return to from time to time. However, when Mary tells the brothers she’s cut her hair so monsters can’t grab them, and Dean decides that this is a perfect moment to reference Sam, the joke falls flat, as Sam and Mary have practically the same hair length already.
The Angel Radio
It’s one thing when Dean uses this phrase as a description, as it feels very appropriate to his character. However, when the bunch of extremely formal angels pick up the name and start to throw it around in their dialogue, it sounds weirdly out of place.
Bee Bug
Do you remember an episode with CGI bees? Well, the best thing about it was left out, as before they re-shot everything and added CGI, the production team tried to go for realism. Unfortunately, the torture of the cast and crew turned out to be for nothing, as bees didn’t capture well on camera.
Rusty Nail Death
Whatever you would do while dying, or seeing your close one dying the most stupid death, make sure it doesn’t involve the 11-minute-long monologue. You can do (or at least try to do) a lot of different things in that time span, and Sam could’ve tried too.
