These underrated films are truly worth-watching for every cinema lover.

The decade of the 1990s can be considered the essential era of movie history, as it paved the way for all modern cinematography. We all know Tarantino and Lynch’s masterpieces, however, there are lots of films which gained unfairly less attention.

Here are 7 movies of that decade, picked by Reddit, claimed to be must-watches for all.

1. Go (1999)

Directed by the Road House filmmaker Doug Liman, this comedy thriller was considered to be even a “junior” Pulp Fiction. It tells four captivating interlinked stories over the course of one night in LA, narrated non-linearly and from several different viewpoints.

2. Sleepers (1996)

Next comes the star-studded crime drama, following a group of men, who are given a chance to perform revenge on a guard brutalizing them at a detention center. It stars such movie giants as Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Bacon.

3. Dark City (1998)

“Hot take - it's better than The Matrix, says Redditor @HereToKillEuronymous.

Indeed, this sci-fi noir movie about a strange city and its mysteries can beat the Wachowskis’ notorious franchise, premiered a year after this, for its atmosphere and suspense.

4. Strange Days (1995)

Another sci-fi flick in the list centers on a black marketeer (Ralph Fiennes) of an electronic device that allows a person to experience the recorded memories and physical sensations of other people, who ends up involved in a criminal showdown.

5. Sneakers (1992)

River Phoenix’s heist film, telling a story of five criminals, who are hired for a shady deal and are quick to realize their clients have far more nefarious motives behind it. It appears to be a must-watch for all fans of this subgenre of crime movies.

6. Galaxy Quest (1999)

This sci-fi comedy is largely a parody to Star Trek and other staples of the genre. It follows the cast of a fictional popular television series (played by Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell), who get involved in a real conflict with aliens.

7. Wild at Heart (1990)

“Unhinged Nic Cage performance in a David Lynch movie. I rarely see anyone talk about it,” fairly admits @Raceofspades.

Indeed, this romantic crime drama deserves more hype than it receives nowadays, as it’s as cool as other Lynch’s works of the 1990’s.
