We were slowly being prepared for the main original vampire to sacrifice himself for his daughter in the season finale, but the death of his brother Elijah came as a total surprise.

As we watch them use the last white oak stake to end each other's lives, the realization of the end of the era hits and it becomes unbearable to live through.

By the way, we're still angry that they were robbed of their happy ending with women they loved.

5. Eddie's Death — Stranger Things

A beloved character we weren't ready to let go. After a prominent rock performance on the roof of the trailer in Upside World, Eddie rescues Dustin and lets the Demobats chase him, knowing full well that he is leading himself to his final.

He dies in his friend's arms, proving to the audience and most importantly to himself that he is a courageous man who was able to sacrifice himself to save others.

4. No Happy Family — WandaVision

Of course, during the show, we realized that something was wrong because we remembered perfectly that Vision was killed in Avengers: Infinity War.

But that still didn't prepare us for the fact that Wanda was in so much pain that she created an entire family for herself. The farewell moment with her children literally broke us into a million pieces.

3. The Red Wedding — Game of Thrones

How could we forget one of the most horrific plot twists in television history?

Season 3 shocked the hell out of viewers when a harmless wedding turned into a bloody massacre and the show's main characters were brutally murdered.

The King in the North, his mother, his pregnant wife, his soldiers, and even his wolf. It literally seemed as if we died with them at this wedding.

2. Hershel's Barn — The Walking Dead

The moment we paused and rewound over and over because it was unexpectedly good.

After days of searching for Carol's young daughter, Sophia, Rick's group finally finds her in Hershel's barn. The barn would be a good place to hide from the walkers, but only if it wasn't being used to hold them.

After the door opens, we sit through the whole scene holding our breath and realizing that something intense is about to happen.

It turns out that Sophia has been close to her mom and the group all along, as we see her walking out of the barn with other walkers.

1. Nell Is A Neck Lady— The Haunting Of Hill House

Our personal favorite most heartbreaking moment in a TV show.

The whole episode was more than just devastating as we see Nellie is back at the Hill House, hallucinating about her family being reunited, dancing with her late husband, hugging her mother again after so many years, and then suddenly taking her own life by jumping off the ladder with a rope around her neck.

But what completely broke our hearts is the fact that we find out that all this time, when little Nellie saw a Bent-Neck lady, she was seeing herself in the future.

The shots, the suspense, and Victoria Pedretti's outstanding performance certainly took our breath away for a couple of months.
