For the fans of both genres.

The South Korean industry is proving its worth every day by releasing more and more breathtaking shows with unusual premises. There are K-dramas for every taste, but the showrunners still manage to create something new with each new series.

For example, even a romantic comedy, the genre that is really hard to make innovative despite the fact that there are millions of them, still manages to create something new and unlikely for the fans.

However, what the South Korean industry does best is blending genres and inventing many different sub-genres. Here are seven K-dramas that perfectly blend the genres of a crime show and a comedy.

1. Bad Guys (2014)

At the center of this K-drama is a very unusual team of criminals that was formed... to fight some other criminals. Sounds promising, huh? Well, the show tells us the story of Detective Oh Goo Tak and his attempt to do something to prevent violent crimes.

So he forms a team that includes a gangster, a super smart serial killer and... another cop. The last addition to the team is supposed to be the glue that holds them all together, but having criminals working together turns out to be quite a disaster. And with that comes a lot of funny moments.

2. Taxi Driver (2021)

The story at the heart of the series revolves around Do Gi, a young man who has lived an honest life, never hurting anyone. But one day, his mother's life comes to a tragic end when she is killed by a serial killer. From that day on his life changes.

Do Gi meets Jang Sung Chul, a man who hires him to work for his taxi company. But as it turns out later on, this is no normal company, but one that specializes in dealing with injustice. The company's drivers are actually the ones whose clients turn to them to deal with situations where the victims end up seeking revenge.

But since the business is most likely not entirely legal, Rainbow Taxi's dealings have caught the attention of a local prosecutor, who has begun an investigation...

3. The Player (2021)

Everyone wants a glimpse into the lives of the 1%. But those who find a way to do so often end up disappointed or even devastated. This K-drama proves that the life of the rich is far from perfect and often comes with a lot of sacrifices.

There are also a lot of dark moments and secrets that make life even more unbearable (we get the irony, though). But with all the murders and other suspicious events going on in the lives of the main characters, how do they find a way to keep it all humorous?

4. Special Labor Inspector Jo (2019)

What do you do when all your dreams come crashing down? The right answer is to find new ones and move on with your life.

When Jo Jin Gap is kicked out of the national judo team and his wish to become a physical education teacher is turned into a definite "no," he is forced to become a civil servant in a labor field. What will he get out of it?

“I’ve enjoyed Special Labor Inspector Mr. Jo - the characters are fun (even the villains, but especially Do-ha), the message is good and there’s ALWAYS something to lift your mood up every episode so it doesn’t get too depressing,” Redditor roevese said.

5. Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation (2020)

This is a K-drama about an extremely dedicated detective named Jin Kang Ho who will literally do anything to bring criminals to justice. He goes above and beyond the call of duty to catch the bad guys. But what makes him a perfect detective also makes him a hard person to get along with...

The man always worked alone until he met Kang Moo Young, a passionate producer of a low-rated investigative show, who ended up being Kang Ho's partner. And this tandem is the best thing you'll ever see on TV.

6.The Fiery Priest (2019)

When we think of a priest, we definitely do not think of a person like Kim Hae Il. He is a Catholic pastor who is not like an average priest. He is often rude to others and makes a lot of spiteful comments. Along with him, there's a detective and a prosecutor at the center of events.

What happens next is that these three completely different people team up to solve a murder case involving a senior Catholic priest.

7. Switch: Change the World (2018)

The K-drama about the wrongs of our world that you must watch if you feel that you are rooting for justice, not just for petty criminals, but for those who lie to millions of people every day in their work. Like politicians, for example...

At the center of this K-drama is a dedicated prosecutor, Oh Ha Ra, who meets two unusual men who will eventually help her make the world a better place.
