And don't even get us started about the show's ending…

It's been 9 years since the last episode of How I Met Your Mother aired on television, but the show is still attracting new admirers.

Here are six behind-the-scenes facts that will make you lose your mind over the series even more.

1. Wrong Big Apple

Despite the fact that the story of Ted and his friends develops in New York City, in fact, the Big Apple, that we see on the screens, is just a studio lot in Los Angeles.

2. Victoria — The Mother

Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the show's creators, had their "final girl" written by season 2 in order to be ready for the show's cancellation.

Nobody else but Victoria, Ted's main girlfriend in season one and the most adored-by-Ted's-fans woman, could have been the mom.

But, luckily, we got a chance to see more of the show, as it was renewed and gave us not two, but nine wonderful seasons and the most perfect match for Ted.

3. The Kids Knew Everything

To ensure that the actors who played Ted's kids looked the same throughout the whole filming period, their scenes were all shot during the first year.

This means that the actors knew that Ted still had feelings for Robin eight years before the whole world found out.

4. Britney Spears The Savior

A pop star appeared on the show as Abby the receptionist in season 3.

Britney didn't just reach the creators and asked to be on the episode, but, as Bays confirmed, she also gave the show a second breath, as she helped bring new viewers.

5. Real Life Partners

Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders had their significant ones to play on the show. Neil's husband, David Burtka, played Lily's high school boyfriend Scooter.

Smulder also shared the screen with her husband, Taran Killam, the guy who stole Barney's curly fry. And last, but not least Alexis Denisof, Hannigan's husband, who played Sandy Rivers — Robin's misogynistic co-host.

We love supporting husbands!

6. Jason Segel's Grief

In one of the saddest moments in the entire series, the actor wasn't prepared to hear the news about his character's father's death.

Everything that we see on the screens is a genuine reaction, as Jason was completely taken by surprise.
