Connie really is the best.

One of the most popular characters on the show is undoubtedly Constance "Connie" Tucker. She's that mix of everything a perfect character needs to be loved by fans: she's smart, she's funny, she can stand up for herself, and she's 100% honest about everything.

Annie Potts has given an extraordinary performance as Connie. So here are just a few examples of how she was exactly the grandmother, mother, and person the show needed.

1. She Always Supports Sheldon

If there is an award for the best grandmother on TV, Connie is without a doubt the one to receive it. She was the only member of the family who actually believed in Sheldon's superior intellect and supported him throughout.

There were many times when Mary was embarrassed by Sheldon or didn't want him to get involved in certain situations, but Meemaw always had his back. For example, when he wanted to ask a question during the church service, Mary always shushed him, but Connie stopped the service to give Sheldon a chance to ask the priest his questions.

2. She Is Playful and Fun

Young Sheldon 's Connie is not your typical grandmother who sits in a chair and knits all day. She has other things to do with her life. But aside from her own stuff and even "business" to run, she always finds time to bond with her grandchildren. And we are not just talking about Sheldon.

Remember when Georgie got fired from the store? Well, while there was a real reason for that (he was left in charge and all the money in the register was stolen), Connie was still there for Georgie. "Here's for firing my grandson, jacka**!"

3. She Is a Sassy Queen

There was nothing you could have said to Connie that she would have swallowed and let go of without giving you a brash and cheeky answer. This was especially noticeable in her conversations with Mary and George.

She could always come up with these hilarious comebacks, like when George once said at dinner, "There's a person at the end of the table who eats for free," implying that she didn't bring any money into the family. But he was quickly put in his place when she said, "There's a person at the other end of the table who eats for three." Checkmate!

4. She Is Always Honest

Sheldon used to say that his Meemaw was the one who taught him things that kept him up at night. What does that mean? Well, although Sheldon was an incredibly smart and curious boy, sometimes he didn't understand the simple rules of life.

For example, Sheldon was genuinely shocked when she told him that a person's face could lie and their heart could be full of different things, but "that's what makes life interesting."

5. She Really Loves Mary

Although their mother-daughter relationship is far from classy, it's still iconic. Connie and Mary didn't get along in many ways because they had such different approaches to life, but they still supported each other wholeheartedly when it was needed.

Connie always knew how to make Mary laugh, and of course she made her life a hundred times easier by helping her with the kids.
