5 Times When Rick & Morty Gave Us Back To The Future Vibes
The fact that the whole point of the show is basically the whole point of Back To The Future Franchise, aka the mad scientist and teen boy duo, helped us to find more similarities in these look-alikes.
Here are our top five.
Is It Morty or Marty?
While Doc's name has nothing to do with Rick Sanchez, there is only one vowel that makes Morty and Marty's names sound like these two are different people, which obviously can't be a coincidence.
Moreover, considering the main voice actor for both Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, Morty's name is spelled closer to Marty's, as originally it sounded like "Mharti."
A Flux Capacitor
A flux capacitor is a fictional piece of technology that allowed Doc and Marty to travel through time in Back to the Future series.
We never actually saw Rick Sanchez use this device in his cross-dimensional travel, but in the episode Morty's Mindblowers, Summer discovers it behind a panel of machinery in Rick's lab.
Apparently, Rick uses a flux capacitor for his other projects.
A Famous Red Puffer And A Poster
There are two little Easter eggs in the show that some of the true fans have noticed.
In the episode The Ricklantis Mix-Up,Rick and Morty bump into one of the many Mortys who appears to be wearing a red puffer jacket — the same one Doc gives to Marty in the second part of the movie.
In Rattlestar Ricklactica, you can also see a Back To The Future III poster in the snake students' time travel machine.
Morty and Marty Are Copy-Cats
Like Back to the Future duo, Rick and Morty have developed a mental bond with each other.
Doc and Marty have always shown similarities in their thoughts and ability to finish each other's sentences, which is definitely the price of time spent together.
Over time, Rick and Morty have developed the same habit, and now Morty completely follows Rick's lead.
They Look The Same
While the only similarity between Morty and Marty is the color of their hair, Doc and Rick are completely the same person — the scrubs, the mad scientist hair, and even the same color of their T-shirt and pants.
Also, in some episodes, you could see Rick and Morty in a Western era, and their look was totally similar to Doc and Morty's look in Back To The Future III.
So, another Easter egg, we guess?
