Sometimes we forget that the actor comes from the word "acting" and not from "let me quickly be myself in this movie."

While we always appreciate talented actors for their ability to bring diverse characters to life, there are times where the portrayal of a villain is so convincing and striking that it affects our perception of the actors themselves.

Here are 5 actors who played their iconic evil roles so well that it made us temporarily detest them both.

1. Stanley Tucci as George Harvey (The Lovely Bones)

In the film adaptation of Alice Sebold's best-selling novel The Lovely Bones, Stanley Tucci played a serial killer and pedophile who rapes and murders young girls.

Just writing these lines brings disgust to our faces, let alone Stanley's performance.

He was so horribly brilliant in this role that we couldn't see him the way we used to. Thank God Easy A Tucci was able to clean up the mess George Harvey left behind and rehabilitate in the eyes of fans.

2. Marcia Gay Harden as Mrs. Carmody (The Mist)

A religious fanatic who becomes a major source of conflict and terror in the midst of a bloodthirsty creatures invasion? Kick this woman out the supermarket door.

We swear, that was the only right decision to make and the fact that no one dared to harm this hideous lady made us utterly mad.

Seeing Marcia in other roles was unbearably difficult as we never recovered from the desire to punch her character in the face.

3. Jack Gleeson as King Joffrey (Game of Thrones )

Game of Thrones has tickled our nerves quite a bit with the various villains whose existence we have sometimes had to bear for far too long. But Joffrey Baratheon...this kid deserves all the pain he got.

Jack Gleenson's portrayal of a sadistic and cruel young king led to a temporary disdain for the actor by viewers who despised Joffrey, making him one of the most hated characters in television history.

4. Imelda Staunton as Dolores Umbridge (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)

Will the sheer evil of the Harry Potter universe please stand up? And nope, we are not even talking about "You-Know-Who."

Imelda's performance as the cruel and power-greedy Senior Undersecretary to the Ministry of Magic and a temporary self-declared Headmistress of Hogwarts shattered Pottermaniacs over the world and forever imprinted her as the common thread to Harry Potter and his friends.

That's what we call a spot-on performance.

5. Ralph Fiennes as Amon Göth (Schindler's List)

In Steven Spielberg 's powerful Schindler's List Ralph Fiennes plays a notorious real-life sadistic Nazi commandant, Amon Göth.

Fiennes masterfully captured the essence of Amon Göth's natureю His portrayal allowed to highlight the character's brutal and callous acts, making the audience witness the sheer inhumanity and cruelty Göth inflicted on innocent Jews during World War II.
