5 Theo James Shows to Watch Before The Gentlemen Netflix Drop
It won’t be the actor's first rodeo.
Born in 1984, Theo James made his television debut in 2010, appearing in two episodes of A Passionate Woman. Since then, the actor has been building his filmography and carefully shaping his career.
Through all the ups and downs, the actor has now landed a lead role in Guy Ritchie 's TV series The Gentleman.
The show, which is a spinoff of the 2019 film of the same name, will debut on Netflix on March 7. To pass the time until the anticipated premiere, check out some of Theo James' best and worst TV performances, from the charismatic romantic lead to the demon forge master.
Golden Boy (2013)
This CBS crime drama is split into two time streams, one taking place "now" and another set 7 years in the future. Both follow the main character, Walter William Clark Jr., portrayed by Theo James. In these 7 years, Clark has made an amazing career in law enforcement, becoming the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City.
Unfortunately, viewers didn't get to spend all 7 years with the character, as the show was canceled by CBS after just one season. However, this season alone is worth watching.
Castlevania (2017-2021)
With the start of season 2 of Iconi's dark fantasy animated series, Theo James has lent his voice to the devil forge master Hector, who is called to serve Dracula. Not only is it nice to see James' character fighting for the forces of evil for a change, but the show itself is so much fun that you won't be able to stop binging it.
Sanditon (2019-2023)
If you're a fan of period romance dramas, you've probably heard of Sanditon. The show is great and has everything that makes such shows special, but Theo James' presence in the show wasn't as long-lasting as fans had hoped. Starring as Sidney Parker, the actor had great on-screen chemistry with Rose Williams, but left after the first season.
Charlotte still got her happy ending, of course, but Sanditon fans will never forget that cruel twist.
The Time Traveler's Wife (2022)
Based on the novel of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger and written by Steven Moffat, the show stars Theo James and Rose Leslie as Henry DeTamble and Clare Abshire, an unconventional couple struggling with Henry's illness that causes him to randomly travel through time. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after only one season.
The White Lotus (2021-...)
Another HBO hit which got a much more recognition that Theo James starred in was The White Lotus. Intended as a limited series, the show met an unexpected success and has been expanded to become an anthology series. James appeared on season 2 of the show as Cameron Sullivan, an investment manager with an outrageously manipulative wife.
