5 The Big Bang Theory Storylines Fans Want To Forget
The only one who would’ve stayed the same is Sheldon.
Even the best shows have moments that fans wish had never happened. Not all of them were badly written or offensive, but most of them were unnecessary and sad. No one likes drama when it's shoved down their throat instead of being seamlessly integrated into the plot.
Unfortunately, sitcoms are prone to the same problem. If the creators don't feel like they have enough emotional weight in the show, they can go a little overboard, leaving viewers wanting to forget everything they've just seen.
Here are 5 storylines from The Big Bang Theory that fit this description perfectly.
Howard’s Long Lost Brother
While it was very interesting to explore more of Howard's background and family dynamic, the storyline itself went nowhere. Viewers were supposed to live and watch the rest of the show completely ignoring the fact that this encounter ever happened, which was downright annoying and felt lazy on the part of the writing team.
Leonard Cheating on Penny
Many see this twist as a typical ‘drama for drama's sake’ situation. The main couple would be boring if their relationship was not constantly messy, so the cheating episode happened. However, the way Leonard revealed it to Penny ruined the magic of their wedding for most fans, and that's what they can't forgive and forget.
Howard Ruining Raj’s Marriage
Fans feel that Raj deserved a much better finale than he got, and marriage to Anu would have been one of the solid options. Yes, the arranged marriage is not something Western viewers are used to, but Howard definitely had no way of stopping Raj from doing what he wanted to do. Instead, he came off as selfish and inconsiderate.
Raj Questioning His Exs
Yet another storyline that would have been great and very interesting to see in terms of Raj's character development, if only it would have gone somewhere. Instead, he never changed and kept making the same mistakes. Unfortunately, this made him even less consistent and harder to take seriously.
Leonard Forgiving His Mother
Another one of the least satisfying storylines is the one Leonard had with his mother. Viewers were hoping to see him finally find his backbone and have enough of an attitude to shut her down, but instead, the writers went for complete forgiveness, which she didn't really deserve in the slightest.
