5 Spooktacular Scooby-Doo Episodes and Movies for Haunting Halloween Fun
Who needs trick-or-treating when you can have a fantastic time with Scooby-Doo?
As Halloween approaches, it's time to remember some of the spookiest Scooby-Doo adventures. The beloved Mystery Inc. gang has been entertaining us for decades. Why would this Halloween be an exception?
Make a Beeline Away from that Feline — Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: S3, E9 (1978)
The 70s sure knew how to deliver a great Scooby-Doo episode. This throwback is a total gem. The Mystery Inc. gang finds themselves in a hotel that seems straight out of our Halloween dreams (or nightmares). Creepy corridors, eerie noises, and a spooky, large cat creature.
The title pretty much gives it away. The gang's chasing clues, and that monstrous cat is chasing them. But as with all things Scooby, there's more than meets the eye. Is it really a sinister supernatural feline or is there some sneaky person behind all this? You’ll need to watch it to find out.
Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998)
Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island isn't an episode; it's a full-blown movie experience. And it’s one of the best out there. In the movie, the gang is a little older and a tad more skeptical. After all the fake monsters they've unmasked over the years, they’re craving some real supernatural action.
And they get it, finding themselves on an isolated island, filled with actual, real-deal zombies. Yep, this ain't a typical "old man Jenkins in a mask" situation. And the best part is that it's genuinely eerie at times, making it perfect for a Halloween night movie session.
The Headless Horseman of Halloween — The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour: S1, E5 (1976)
In this classic episode, Scooby, Shaggy, and the gang find themselves at a Halloween party in Sleepy Hollow. What could possibly go wrong, right? Well, the legendary Headless Horseman decides to crash the party, looking for his lost head.
The gang needs to unravel the mystery and figure out who's really behind the ghostly disguise before it's too late. It's an episode packed with the perfect blend of humor, mystery, and just a pinch of spookiness.
Escape From Mystery Manor — Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated: S1, E17 (2011)
This episode gives off serious haunted house vibes (because it's set in one). Еhe gang stumbles upon an old mansion which once belonged to the adventurous Darrow family.
As Scooby and the gang start to explore, it quickly becomes a game of survival. The house itself is like a gigantic escape room with riddles, hidden passages, and traps. The ambiance, the suspense, and the classic Scooby-Doo humor make this episode a must-watch.
Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost (1999)
Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost is a blast from the past that's absolutely perfect for Halloween. Scooby, Shaggy, and the rest of the gang find themselves in New England, in the little town of Oakhaven.
Turns out, the town's claim to fame is the ghost of a witch named Sarah Ravencroft who was believed to have terrorized the town centuries ago. Soon enough, strange things start to happen, and the legend seems to be coming to life. We've got eerie woods, an actual ghost witch, a thrilling mystery, and some really cool twists.
