There’s only a place for laughs.

Although K-dramas have proven to be just as impressive as any other Western TV show in terms of production quality, acting, and variety of genres to choose from, there is still a group of people who find it difficult to watch them. Those who aren't as interested in romance and relationships always feel left out of the K-dramas' target audience.

However, there are still great comedic shows produced in Korea that don't focus on romance at all. Here are 5 of them to choose from on a nice winter night:

Fiery Priest (2019)

What if we told you that there is no better team to clean up a city full of criminals than a priest who cannot control his anger and a detective who cannot be trusted with a gun? Sure, their methods may not be the most convincing, but they act with the best of intentions, and they get the job done. What's not to love?

Psychopath's Diary (2019)

If there was a person further from a psychopath, it’s Yook Dong-sik. However, once he finds the diary of the psychopath and starts believing that it belongs to him, his behavior starts to slowly change causing a lot of concern and suspense. Too bad police officer Shim Bo-kyung is already on his case.

Behind Your Touch (2023)

Okay, there's a little bit of romance in this drama, but if you squint hard enough, it's very easy to ignore completely. On the other hand, the premise of the town psychic and the cynical detective working together to investigate some mysterious murders is so good that you don't want to miss this show.

Racket Boys (2021)

First and foremost, this is a story of friendship and love for the sport that the main characters have chosen. As in any other sports drama, they will have to face all the challenges that any team sport has to offer in order to come out stronger than ever. A perfect watch for those who prefer bromance to romance.

Chief Kim (2017)

Who is really a good manager: the one who follows all the rules and doesn't care about the needs of the people he rules, or the one who is corrupt but cares about the workers' rights? Kim Sung-ryong, who can't go a year without being investigated for accounting fraud and tax evasion, knows the answer best.
