You can’t outdo the doer.

The Witcher TV series has taken the world by storm after hitting the big screen in 2019. With the anticipated Season 3 debuting on screens, it will be the last time we see the beloved Henry Cavill as the White Wolf Geralt.

But with the show renewed for at least two more seasons, Liam Hemsworth is set to take Cavill's place. Here are 5 reasons why it will be hard for Hemsworth to top Cavill's portrayal of Geralt.

1. Henry Cavill Got Approval From The Witcher’s Author

Andrej Sapkowski, author of The Witcher book series, praised Henry Cavill's portrayal of Geralt in The Witcher series, comparing it to Viggo Mortensen's iconic portrayal of Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings.

Sapkowski expressed his belief that Cavill has forever become synonymous with Geralt, and has etched his name into the history of the fantasy genre.

2. Henry Cavill Is A Huge Fan Of The Games

Apparently, the actor is an avid fantasy fan who has expressed his love for The Witcher and Warhammer several times. Cavill tried to include the video game's iconic bathtub scene as a nod to gamers, but the idea didn't make the final cut due to the bathtub's inconvenient size.

3. Henry Cavill Is Unforgettable

Henry Cavill was adamant about wanting to play Geralt in The Witcher, and he actively sought to meet with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich before the show was even greenlit.

At first, Hissrich found Cavill's determination to be "annoying," but after listening to numerous auditions, she couldn't get the thought of him out of her head and eventually cast him in the role.

4. Henry Cavill Cared Deeply About His Role

Henry Cavill's genuine passion for The Witcher series, both the books and the game, helped him bring Geralt to life on the big screen. He saw the role as an extraordinary opportunity to fulfill the fantasies of his childhood and adult life, beyond just a job, and you can feel how hard it is for him to let go of this role that has changed his life.

5. Henry Cavill Did His Stunts

Cavill's commitment to authenticity in portraying the character is evident in his meticulous preparation for fight scenes. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor admitted that for his role as Geralt, he went so far as to perform his own swordplay, spending ample time training for just a few minutes of on-screen combat.
