5 Pixar Fan Theories That Will Blow Your Mind
The Devil works hard, but Pixar fans work harder.
From toys coming alive to the whole university where monsters learn how to scare people — Pixar gave its audience a fair share of memorable and beloved animations over the past decades.
Looking beyond the surface, Pixar movies have also inspired many fan theories that explore hidden connections and deeper meanings within their popular films.
Here are five mind-blowing Pixar theories that will make you question their movies you've seen before.
1. Randall is Andy's Monster
In the interconnected world of Pixar movies, it is believed that the children in these movies encounter monsters from Monsters Inc. through their closets.
This means that Andy, the little boy in Toy Story, also has his monster, and fans believe that it is none other than Randall.
As a proof of it, remember a sign on Andy's closet in Toy Story 3 — it features a creature resembling Randall, and as we remember from the Monsters Inc. movie, Randall was practicing camouflage against walls quite similar to Andy's room.
Does this mean that Andy's monster is the main antagonist of the second Monsters Inc. movie? The evidence is solid.
2. Dash and Molly Are Related
Andy and Molly from Toy Story may be siblings, but something tells us they may have had different fathers. While they both have blue eyes, their other features are completely different.
Molly has blond hair and a square face, and who in the Pixar universe has the same features?
Dash from The Incredibles. Dash was born in the '60s, while Molly's birth is estimated to be around '95. This perfectly aligned timeline means they can share the same genes.
3. Andy's Mom and Jessie's Past
In Toy Story 2, we learn Jessie's heartbreaking backstory as a forgotten and abandoned toy by her former owner, Emily. This fan theory suggests that Emily was none other than Andy's mother.
The evidence lies in a vintage cowgirl hat and familiar decorations seen in Andy's home, suggesting a connection between Jessie's past and the toy's current owner.
Also, Andy's childhood cowboy hat looks exactly like Emily and Jessie's. Coincidence? We don't think so.
4. Boo is the Witch in Brave
Monsters, Inc. and Brave seem to exist in different time periods, but this amazing theory connects the two movies through Boo and the Witch.
It suggests that Boo, determined to return to the world of monsters, eventually becomes the witch in ancient Scotland who has magic and the ability to travel through time.
As a proof of this theory, you can see the figure of Sally carved in her shop. She is also obsessed with bears, and perhaps this obsession stems from her childhood when she first saw her big and fluffy friend.
5. Riley is Adopted
The most astute fans of Pixar's Inside Out have speculated that Riley, the little girl in the movie, may be adopted. They point to the fact that Riley doesn't physically resemble her parents.
In addition, in Riley's Family Island of Personality, she is shown at the top of the family tree, suggesting that she is imagining a future family rather than having a biological family above her.
This theory may not be that bright, but it still has some intriguing potential.
