5 Outstanding Actors Who Have Sadly Been Forgotten By Audiences Over Time
It's time for Hollywood to bring these actors back to the main stage.
Hollywood producers seem to have forgotten about these stars who all have inimitable talent and skills to bring their movies a huge box office, as well as a few Oscars.
1. Rosamund Pike
This British actress has starred in small English movies and some minor franchises. Many fans praised her acting in David Fincher's Gone Girl (2014), where she played a happy wife with a lot of secrets.
In this movie, Rosamund Pike was able to really show off her acting chops, masterfully switching between her character's vulnerability and cunningness. But while the role earned her a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination, Pike's career did not progress much further after that.
2. Paul Dano
Paul Dano is one of the best indie actors who is incredibly adept at getting into the skin of his character. He was great in his role of a withdrawn teenager in Little Miss Sunshine (2005), and many viewers admired Dano's wonderful performance in There Will Be Blood (2007), created by Paul Thomas Anderson.
The actor most recently starred in The Batman and The Fabelmans (2022), which marked another milestone in his career. However, Hollywood producers have yet to give Paul Dano a chance to showcase his full potential.
3. Dakota Fanning
Having started acting as a child, 29-year-old Dakota Fanning managed to work with Quentin Tarantino and Steven Spielberg early in her career. But despite her participation in the films of the legendary directors and incredible popularity throughout the 2000s, the actress' fame seems to have waned over the years.
In recent years, Fanning mostly appeared in TV series, and we think it is time for Hollywood studios to recognize the actress' talent again and invite her back to star in major productions.
4. Hugo Weaving
The actor was a part of two greatest blockbusters at the beginning of the century, playing Lord of Rivendell in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003) and Agent Smith in the Wachowski sisters' legendary The Matrix ( 1999).
These along with Hugo Weaving's other roles are a testament to his versatility as an actor, as he can convincingly portray both heroes and anti-heros. For some reason, however, the actor faded from the big screen after these blockbusters.
5. Lena Headey
Lena Headey was the main star of arguably the most important series of the current century, Game of Thrones ( 2011–2019), embodying the incredibly complex character of the queen of Westeros. Although Cersei Lannister is a highly controversial and rather unpleasant character, many viewers sympathized with her thanks to Headey's amazing acting.
But after the show ended, the actress failed to break into the world of Hollywood blockbusters, even though her skills could have earned her more than one Oscar.
