5 New Sitcoms To Watch If You Are Tired Of Friends And Seinfeld
It’s time to change your top choice of comfort shows.
Spending the night in front of the TV is one of the best ways to unwind after a long day at work, and sometimes people choose to watch the same sitcoms over and over again because they just feel more comfortable with the characters and dialogue they know by heart.
Usually, viewers just re-watch Friends, The Office, and Seinfeld because those are the shows that have already proven to us that they will bring us joy. But we think it's time to give some other shows a chance. And here are five newer sitcoms that you should all check out.
1. Our Flag Means Death ( 2022)
It’s fun to know that this hilarious series is based on a true life story. The show revolves around a wealthy man living in 1717, who once decided his life was boring and made a decision to become a pirate.
Well, it was the idea that sounded amazing only in his head, but after he started his journey everything went wrong. Apparently, being a pirate is not for everybody.
2. Abbott Elementary ( 2021)
Abbott Elementary is an amazing show that highlights the good in good people and the bad in those who lack much soul. It is a sitcom that revolves around several teachers who truly love their jobs but end up teaching in the worst public school possible.
These dedicated professionals have to deal with everyday obstacles that make their jobs so much harder than it needs to be. And the attitudes of the students don't help either.
3. Ghosts (2021)
Based on the British series of the same name, the American sitcom centers on a young couple, Sam and Jay, who inherit a mansion and decide to turn it into a B&B. What they don't know is that the mansion is haunted and full of invisible housemates.
Things get even more complicated when Sam has an accident and after a fall, she starts seeing these ghosts.
4. Grand Crew (2021)
The worst thing about this show is that it has such poor marketing, that almost nobody knew about it. The ones lucky enough to have seen it claim that the writing is amazing and the sitcom can beat any other show about a group of friends dealing with their lives.
Unfortunately the show was canceled because of low ratings (it may or may not be connected with the series’ lackluster promotion), but there's hope someone will pick it up.
“I love this show! It is hilarious. I have watched the seasons a couple of times now. I know that it has been canceled, but I am holding on to the hope that it eventually gets picked up with another network or streaming service and is heavily promoted,” Redditor Beautiful_Stress_544 said.
5. Life in Pieces (2015)
What viewers mention most is the unique concept of the show. It has everything: original premise, original humor, great acting. Life in Pieces is a family comedy told through the separate stories of different family members.
The show was also canceled due to poor promotion, but the four existing seasons are a must watch.
