When a show becomes a smash hit there’s no way it would be ever forgotten. But this statement is especially true about some of the old shows. There’s no way that there’s a series rewatched more times than Friends. Maybe close second is The Office, though…

However, by doing so, and especially by watching only the shows that are heavily promoted in the media or involved in scandals, we miss a lot of really great stuff that deserves our attention no less than the loud premieres.

Here are five shows that are criminally underrated and must be on your watchlist.

1. Hacks (2021)

Hacks is a show on MAX that has a 99% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it's still one of those shows that's very overlooked by viewers, and that's a shame.

At the center of the show is a woman, a legendary comedian named Deborah Vance, who teams up with a much younger, struggling comedy writer who was canceled after a controversial tweet.

2. Acapulco (2021)

Acapulco premiered on AppleTV+ in 2021 and has won the hearts of many fans with its amazing humor. The story centers on a young Mexican man whose dream comes true when he lands the job of a lifetime at what he thinks is the best resort in Acapulco. But after some time, he realizes that the job is much more complicated than he could have ever imagined.

3. Palm Royale ( 2024)

Any Ricky Martin fans out there? Well, you'll be happy to know that he plays a title role of sorts in this HBO masterpiece. The series focuses on a woman named Maxine Simmons as she hatches a plan to enter the most exclusive society that existed at the time: Palm Beach's high society circa 1969.

But it's actually a sad story, because it shows how fake things can become the most important thing in a person's life, and how desperate people can become when they can't achieve something they so desperately want.

4. Righteous Gemstones (2019)

Meet the funniest crime series ever created on TV. Danny McBride’s show premiered in 2019 and became a fan-favorite ever since, because of the amazing characters portrayed in it. The show follows a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. The show now has three seasons, and it was announced that season 4 will happen sometime soon.

One of Hulu 's best gems is definitely this show, which stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as three strangers who share a similar true crime obsession and suddenly find themselves in one, after coming across a murder case…

What fans like about the show is how bingeable it is! The quirky characters and their on-screen chemistry is something they haven't seen in a long time. And the storylines are so bizarre yet so compelling that it's impossible not to love the show the first time you see it.
