Not everything's supposed to be about romance.

Unfortunately, finding and maintaining romance in real life is much more difficult than it is portrayed on television. Many people are annoyed by what they see because it lacks realism and depth. A good portrayal of friendships that are loyal, strong, and supportive is what they are looking for in their dramas.

If you agree that relationships may come and go, but friends will always be there for you, here are 5 K-dramas that will only prove the point.

1. Hospital Playlist (2020)

Some would say that Hospital Playlist is a Korean alternative to the Western Grey's Anatomy, but there are two very important differences. First, you won't have to sit through 19 seasons of content, and second, you won't have to endure all the unnecessary romantic drama. This show is about doctors helping patients and each other get through life.

2. Dear My Friends (2016)

Have you ever felt like your life is already over? Well, if you have, this show about a group of seniors celebrating their lives and being thankful for the golden years they now have may even be therapeutic for you. It will also reaffirm the importance of maintaining valuable relationships throughout the years, even when it seems hard.

3. Hello, My Twenties! (2016)

If you are more interested in watching someone whose problems you can relate to, or if you are interested in seeing what problems Korean teenagers may face, then this is the drama for you. Focusing on the lives of girls who all live in the same dorm, Hello, My Twenties! will make you feel like you're taking part in their adventures too.

4. Work Later, Drink Now (2021)

This two-season show follows the lives of three female friends who all meet for drinks at the end of the workday. With one being a yoga instructor, the other an origami YouTuber, and the last a workaholic broadcast writer, their problems are different, but all lead to very similar feelings and conclusions that they come to together.

5. Racket Boys (2021)

Nothing compares to the camaraderie you build with your teammates when you are all involved in a sport. The show perfectly portrays the friendships within both female and male tennis teams, as well as the bond they have with their families and the entire community around them.
