Sometimes actors grow up right in front of us and we still manage to miss them, only to be surprised later.
It is natural for actors who started their careers as children or teenagers to change over the years.
But we're sure you've at least once thought, "Wait, that's them? I just saw them in a movie recently and they were completely different!"
So here are 5 actor transformations that happened right in front of our eyes and we totally missed.
Matthew Lewis
Anyone who has seen the Harry Potter movies remembers Neville Longbottom, portrayed by Matthew Lewis, as an awkward kid who was often a comedic relief character.
But over the course of the movies, Neville has changed quite a bit, and by the time Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 were released, he was almost unrecognizable from his former self.

Will Poulter
Fans may remember Will Poulter from his appearances in We're the Millers and School of Comedy, where he portrayed comedic characters.
So when he recently appeared all buffed up and mature as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, many fans suddenly realized how old they are, as it all seemed like yesterday.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson started his career playing nerdy characters in movies like Kick-Ass. He then stepped up a bit with his role as Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it still wasn't exactly a badass role.
And then, suddenly, he's all grown up and sophisticated, as evidenced by his role as Tangerine in Bullet Train (2022), and is about to play the brutal Kraven the Hunter in an upcoming Sony film of the same name.

Harry Melling
Another Harry Potter actor, most fans know Harry Melling from his portrayal of Dudley Dursley in those films, so they were quite shocked at how he and his acting skills have evolved over time when they saw him in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) and The Queen's Gambit miniseries (2020).
A far cry from his role as the stereotypical spoiled child in the Harry Potter movies, that's for sure.

Jonah Hill
From comedic roles in films like Knocked Up and Superbad (both 2007), Jonah somehow managed to climb to the top and appear in a Martin Scorsese film, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), which came as quite a surprise to fans.
Of course, he always had the talent, but such a crazy transition is still impressive.
