Let’s celebrate the iconic film with more great cinema.

Though at the time of its premiere Jennifer’s Body wasn’t in any way an outstanding film, throughout the years it managed to grow quite a dedicated audience. Formed mostly from LGBTQA+ and feminist fans, the film serves the part of horror genre fans that is often left out of the production team’s thoughts.

As Jennifer’s Body celebrates its 14th birthday, we suggest you check out 5 more horrors that may be just as interesting to you.

The Craft (1996)

Besides serving as visual inspiration for Jennifer’s Body and several more 2000s teen horrors, The Craft also deals with topics of female friendships and figuring out one’s identity. If that sounds like something that would speak to you, that film is definitely worth spending your evening on.

The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015)

Starring such well-known horror genre actresses as Kiernan Shipka and Emma Roberts, The Blackcoat’s Daughter deals with the possessed teenage girl as the central figure of the film. Not only is the film much darker than Jennifer’s Body, but the issues that young women face portrayed in 2015’s film hit much closer to home, so beware of triggers before tuning in.

Last Night in Soho (2021)

Starring such huge TV names as Anya Taylor-Joy and Matt Smith, the film was destined to be a success. It shows all the dangers that young and naive women can face in a cruel society that values them as objects, completely disregarding any feelings under the surface.

Carrie (1976)

It’s hard to create any horror list without any additions from the King of the genre himself. Based on the book of the same name, Carrie tells a story of High School cruelty, familial abuse, and the sweet taste of revenge. Don’t look at the year of the release, the film is just as timeless as the book is.

The Love Witch (2016)

Although the film is usually appreciated for its glamorous aesthetics as it was shot in the style of Old Hollywood, the story that it tells is just as worthy of checking out. The horror part aside, humorous and touching at times The Love With is the story that every young woman would be able to relate to.
