5 Grey's Anatomy Moments So Unbelievable, Fans Still Can't Get Over Them
Fans will turn a blind eye to anything that makes for a good drama.
Grey's Anatomy has never been a show to turn on if you want to see a glimpse of reality. Although there are some issues that other shows have been too slow to tackle, they're usually shown in the least likely way.
Even if we don't talk about the medical stuff, everything that goes on between the characters is highly unrealistic.
While some fans have grown tired over the years of writers changing reality to fit their narrative, others seem to be all for it.
After all, the majority of the audience watches television to forget about the mundane and to escape into another universe. One that is sometimes better and sometimes just a lot more chaotic.
Here are 5 moments from Grey's Anatomy that will make even the most loyal fans raise their eyebrows in disbelief.
Grey Sloan Memorial's low firing rate
Even viewers who are not in the medical field understand that a good half of the doctors we see on screen would be fired pretty quickly from real hospitals.
From Izzie's LVAD fiasco to Karev overdosing the patient on potassium, it's hard to believe that either of them lasted this long.
Richard Webber's retirement
Most viewers think he should have retired years ago. No matter how brilliant he is, it is highly unlikely that any board would allow a man in his 70s to run a hospital.
Besides, Webber himself has been talking about retiring since season 1, so that would make a lot more sense than keeping him around.
Everyone staying at the hospital after the plane crash
It's very hard to believe that any of the affected characters wouldn't want to move out and change jobs.
Tragedies like this, where you lose your friends and colleagues, are deeply traumatizing for everyone involved, so it would be understandable for them to change environments rather than endure more PTSD.
Zola's adoption story
With so many people around the world struggling with the adoption process, Zola's story is one of the most upsetting.
There is just no way anyone can go to another country and pick up a child just because they seem to have a connection without going through bureaucratic hell.
Meredith having not one, but three secret sisters
It's safe to say that Meredith Grey has no shortage of siblings, considering how easily they come into the show. Not only that but the fact that all but Lexie have names that begin with the letter M, as if by design.
Molly's, Lexie's, and Maggie's appearances all came as a shock to the audience, but from this perspective, it just doesn't seem that believable.
