5 Great Characters MCU Wasted, Ranked From 'Pity' to 'They Deserved Better'
These characters just can't compete with their comic book counterparts.

MCU has given us diverse and interesting superheroes and villains who made fans care about their fates.
But there have also been missteps where the characters have become pale shadows of their comic book versions, or have not been developed at all.
5. Hulk
Hulk is undoubtedly one of Marvel's most important characters. In the first two movies, the comic image of the Hulk was relatively preserved (although there was no such thing as the Hulk losing to the Hulkbuster).
Then there was a noticeable decline in the Hulk's abilities – Thor almost beat him, and Thanos needed just a minute to show his superiority.
In Endgame, he was turned into Professor Hulk – one of the weakest versions of the Hulk, finishing off his reputation as Big and Terrible.
4. Maria Hill
Maria Hill has been introduced to the Marvel universe over the years as the right hand of Nick Fury.
Fans have been waiting for a long time for the studio to give her credit, hoping that she will have a major role in the plot. Many expected this to happen in Secret Invasion, but... she was just killed in the first episode.
3. Quicksilver
Fortunately, this superhero's abilities were largely transferred to the big screen. However, Quicksilver from the X-Men still did better, giving us cool scenes that have become almost legendary.
The problem is not with the character himself, but with the background. Evan Peters' character was loved by everyone for his charisma, and offering a completely new and different option was not the best idea.
2. Taskmaster
Movie adaptation was extremely disappointing for this unusual character, as he was a strong opponent in the comics and animated series, and only Deadpool could handle him.
Taskmaster was also an excellent strategist, on par with Captain America. And it is surprising that in Black Widow he was presented as a puppet, incapable of independent action.
1. Loki
Loki is undoubtedly one of the best Marvel villains, but only thanks to the charisma of Tom Hiddleston. Loki's potential has only been shown a little throughout the movies.
For example, in The Avengers, what prevented him from using the scepter to subdue Hulk (Scarlet Witch did a similar trick) and sending him to the Avengers?
Besides, if Loki is a master of manipulation and all sorts of tricks, then he must have tactics to fool even the smartest of his enemies – unfortunately, the fans never saw even a small part of his evil genius.
