Not everything outside the books was just as bad as the season 8 finale.

There is a general feeling among the public that almost everything the showrunners have added to Game of Thrones is automatically bad.

It's hard to blame anyone for thinking that, considering how horrible and downright traumatizing the series finale was.

But season 8 aside, there were a lot of moments that George R.R. Martin had absolutely nothing to do with. Here are 5 such scenes to remember in place of Dany Targaryen's famous forgetfulness of the fleet.

Arya as Tywin's Cupbearer

Everyone loved the dynamic between Tywin, who saw right through Arya, and the stubborn girl.

In addition to the great on-screen chemistry between the actors, this moment helped humanize Tywin and showcase the intelligence of Stark's youngest daughter.

Tyrion meets Daenerys

Unfortunately, in the books published at the time of production, Tyrion hadn't yet made his way to meet Daenerys Targaryen.

However, their first meeting on screen did not disappoint fans. Dany's strong will to get what she wants and Tyrion's wisdom combined to give viewers one of the most powerful duos.

Davos Confronts Melisandre

One of the most emotional, heartbreaking, and absolutely beautiful moments of true grief in the series.

Liam Cunningham's performance as Davos was widely acclaimed by both the audience and critics. This scene was certainly the one to remember, regardless of the books.

Ygritte shooting Jon Snow

The ending of this relationship was much more prominent on the show. In the books, readers are left to guess whether or not the arrow Snow caught was Ygritte's.

On the show, however, the couple has quite the emotional dialogue, and we get to see Ygritte wound Jon but let him go.

Cersei Blows Up the Sept of Baelor

No matter what theories readers may have had for the future of Cersei's storyline, the reality is that the books have only gotten to the point of her trial.

Cersei using wildfire to get revenge on pretty much everyone she hates with a burning passion is a horrifying yet insanely powerful scene.
