5 Easter Eggs You Missed in Loki Season 2 Episode 2
Have you caught a sneaky reference to Eternals?
It’s so refreshing for Marvel fans to see a project of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that is genuinely good. Yes, we are talking about Loki season 2. The second episode is released, and it’s time to catch all the best Easter eggs left in the episode.
Zaniac
The movie premiere we see in the episode is actually an Easter egg. In the Thor comic book, Brad Wolf was an actor who played a serial killer Zaniac, but was later actually possessed by the spirit of Zaniac. We get to meet Brad Wolf, and who knows, he might play a different role in the next episodes.
Brigitte Bardot
When the reporter asked Brad about Bridget BAU rumors, it's a nod to a movie star and model from the 50s and 60s. She symbolized breaking free during a time of cultural repression, much like the variants (such as Brad) breaking free from the TVA.
Movie Posters
One of the movie posters outside the theater is for Herbie Rides Again. It's a sequel to The Love Bug, where a sentient car named Herbie saves a woman from a greedy landlord.
Another poster showcases a movie starring Kingo from The Eternals. Remember how Kingo has been a Bollywood star for ages, posing as his own descendants? This poster is a nod to that legacy.
Kingo’s movie is directed by Raj Singh. Raj Singh is a character from Doctor Who who worked at the Torchwood Institute. Given the timey-wimey nature of both Doctor Who and Loki, this Easter egg is just perfect.
The Interrogation Scene
When Loki interrogates Brad, he uses his own words against him. It’s a clever callback to a reversed scene from Avengers, where Loki was interrogated by Black Widow.
Silent Trust Between Loki and Sylvie
In episode 2 of season 1, there was a scene where Sylvie opens up a time door, trusting Loki to follow her. In episode 2 of season 2, there is a similar scene, but now it’s Loki who goes through a door, trusting Sylvie to make her own choice.
