We don't exactly love Supernatural for being an ultra-reasonable show, but seriously.

When you are ready to put up with demons, angels, leviathans and someone loving pies and staying in shape like Dean Winchester does, it means you are okay with a certain degree of unrealistic stuff in a show. However, when it comes to Supernatural, there are plenty of instances when the series ignored its own logic — even in terms of all things heaven and hell.

Let's look at the most bizarre inconsistencies that Supernatural kept throwing in the face of fans.

Christo

Starting with the most obvious and outrageous thing here. In fact, first seasons of Supernatural had established a lot of useful hunter tricks only for them to never be used again in later chapters. The word "Christo" that would immediately expose a demon seems like a really handy thing to use as often as possible, especially with the Winchesters constantly encountering demons.

Yeah, but how about ignoring it forever and just go through 15 seasons without one of the most convenient hunter tricks? Because that's exactly what Supernatural chose to roll with.

On the Run

This would be the least of the Winchester brothers' problems, but these two are actually criminals wanted by the government. Things went really bad in season 7, when leviathans used Dean and Sam's appearance to murder everyone they encountered and quickly putting the duo in the crosshairs of law enforcement.

Do the brothers ever attempt to change their appearance? Not in the slightest. Well, law enforcement in the show is conveniently dumb to never catch them.

Angel Sigil

In season 4, an angel-banishing sigil was very helpful when Castiel used it to banish Zachariah. Castiel, who is also an angel, was left unharmed, even though in later seasons he would use the very same sigil to banish himself. Maybe it was about carving the sigil onto himself? We'll never know.

Calendar

Time skips? Plenty of those in Supernatural. However, they are never affecting the calendar of the show. If Supernatural cared to include time skips in its calendars, season 15 would have ended in 2022 rather than 2020 because of the two one-year time skips the show ignored: at the end of season 5 and at the end of season 7.

Dark Past

Speaking of timeline consistency: when Dean is sent to 1973 and meets his young father, John Winchester. One of the latter's friends tells him to say hello to his father (Dean's grandfather), and John agrees, thus establishing that his father was around in 1973. It all happens only for us to later hear from 1953 version of John that he believed his father abandoned him for his entire life. Alright then, we guess.
