We bet these stupid choices made you cringe.

We love The Walking Dead for many reasons, especially its characters whom we have absolutely fallen in love with. But let's be real — our beloved heroes have made some incredibly bone-headed decisions that left us facepalming.

Here are the worst of them.

Morales leaving the group

Ah Morales, what were you thinking? He dips out from the group in season one and re-emerges in season eight. We find out that his family died, and now he's playing for the other team — the Saviors. Karma hits hard and Daryl sends him off to the other side. What a pointless full circle.

Carol ignoring Lizzie's behavior

Carol, the most badass lady in the TWD universe, did a major blunder. She noticed Lizzie's disturbing tendencies but chose to ignore it because of her maternal feelings towards the kid.

The result? Lizzie loses it and murders her own sister, leaving Carol heartbroken. If only Carol had intervened earlier, a lot of heartache could have been saved.

Andrea deciding not to kill the Governor

How could a comic book heroine fall so low in the show? Andrea did a number of dumb things, like shooting Daryl, thinking that he was a walker.

But the worst thing was when she abandoned Michonne to stay with the Governor. She had the opportunity to kill him while he was sleeping, but instead, she decided to resolve the conflict between Rick and the Governor peacefully. Love can blind us, but that was just ridiculous.

Daryl punching Negan

Everyone loves a hero who stands up to the villain, but Daryl's decision to punch Negan was a classic facepalm moment. Negan had just offed Abraham and warned that another would follow if anyone misbehaved. So, what does Daryl do? Punches Negan, which gets Glenn killed as a result.

Carl not killing a walker

The early days of TWD were filled with Carl's childish antics. But nothing tops his decision to torment a trapped walker instead of killing it. And who pays the price for this? Poor Dale, who meets a gruesome end when that very same walker rips him apart.
