5 Comfort Animated Series If You're Still Not Over Gravity Falls
Summer is coming to an end and Dipper and Mabel are leaving Uncle Stan, but we have something for you to ease some of the heartache.
Gravity Falls ended seven years ago, logically and without a hint of a sequel. The creator Alex Hirsch, despite the popularity of the project, put an end to the story. But fans still miss their favorite characters and the fabulously mysterious atmosphere.
Here’s a list of animated series that are not going to be a full-fledged replacement for Gravity Falls, but they will definitely come to the taste of its fans.
1. Over The Garden Wall
These two animations have something in common, but they are two completely different works. The world of Over The Garden Wall is darker and scarier. The story itself is deeper and more complex. And the ending is not as clear-cut as it seems at first glance, and is still being debated.
According to the plot, two brothers – the melancholic Wirt and the carefree Greg – find themselves in a mysterious forest and try to find their way home.
2. Amphibia
Matt Braly, storyboard director on Gravity Falls, worked on this animated series. The plot is based on the most mundane story of how a human girl is magically transported to another world. Only this other world is not a wonderful kingdom, but a habitat for humanoid frogs and other insect-like creatures.
In the animated series, in addition to funny stories about how Anne tries to adapt to a new, unfamiliar world, there is a place for puzzles that will be interesting to solve together with the main character.
3. Hilda
The animated series was created based on the comics by Luke Pearson, an animator who worked on the famous Adventure Time. The animation tells about a girl who lives in the forest with her mother and communicates with creatures from Scandinavian myths.
Hilda, made in cold colors, is perfect for autumn. The story is very cozy and warm, but there are a few episodes that will really scare you.
4. Infinity Train
Infinity Train is an animated series about the problems of teenagers. Life's questions are resolved through the mystical and inexplicable: people who need psychological help get on an infinity train.
To get off the train, the main character must pass tests that will help her understand herself, her feelings, and finally, her parents.
5. Summer Camp Island
This series from Cartoon Network is about summer vacation – Hedgehog and Oscar arrive at summer camp, which turns out to be a magical island.
Summer Camp Island is a story about friendship, growing up and finding yourself. Hedgehog is happy to escape, at least for a while, from the world her parents planned for her long ago, and Oscar learns to be an adult and independent.
