In 2021, Friends: The Reunion aired, reigniting all the nostalgia once again to last us a few more decades. It was also the time we all learned some new and exciting behind-the-scenes facts!

We have selected the top five revelations from Friends: The Reunion for you. Let's dive in.

#5 Matthew Perry Kept Pulling a Chandler On Set

Chandler is the funny guy of the group, and the role is a lot to live up to. Matthew Perry is the real-life Chandler in many ways, and his lack of confidence in himself is another thing that the actor picked up.

Perry admitted to feeling like he "was going to die if they [the audience] didn't laugh."

If a joke didn't land right, the star would just "sweat" and "go into convulsions." Poor Matthew, that's a lot of pressure on one guy!

#4 David Schwimmer Was Not Having It with Marcel

While we all may love the entire storyline with Marcel, Ross's pet monkey, David Schwimmer was relieved when it was finally over.

The actor talked about how many times they had to "reset" and "go again" just because "the money didn't get it [the scene] right."

Well, it was just a monkey, we are sure it did the best it could.

David was also sick and tired of the monkey's "grubby hands all over" – when the animal was sitting on Schwimmer's shoulder and resting from filming, the trainer kept feeding it live grubs. Yuck!

#3 David Schwimmer Was Literally Hard to Get

While David Schwimmer was the first to be cast (the creators actually wrote Ross with him in mind), it still took some convincing to do on the part of David Crane, Marta Kauffman, and Kevin Bright.

By the time they created Friends, Schwimmer had already quit TV and moved to Chicago to do theater.

Fortunately, a few gift baskets sent his way seemed to do the trick, and the rest is history!

#2 David and Jennifer Crushed on Each Other IRL

In the first season, Ross and Rachel's leadup to the relationship was truly blossoming, and the chemistry was fueled up by the actors' off-screen feelings for each other!

Schwimmer revealed that he and Aniston were "crushing hard on each other" during the first season, but never acted on it because they were both in relationships at the time.

Jennifer added that they used their mutual feelings and pushed them up into Ross and Rachel. Maybe that is why they are still the ultimate "will they, won't they" couple?

#1 Janice's Signature Laugh Was the Best Improv

Believe it or not, Janice's iconic laugh was never scripted, and the reason it exists is Matthew Perry's sense of humor.

Maggie Wheeler shared that he was "so funny" that she instantly knew that she was going to "lose it."

The actress felt that her character had to have a laugh because she wasn't sure she could "get through a single scene" with Perry without cracking up.

In one of the scenes, Wheeler "just looked" at Perry, and that was how the hysterical laugh was born "in the moment." We are happy that it was!

Do you agree with our ranking? Don't tell us that you wouldn't put Janice's laugh story at the top!
