These TV shows (and not just TV shows) are suddenly obsessed with WandaVision.

Marvel’s influence is evident in various forms of media. From TV shows to books, Marvel references are everywhere. But when we speak about Marvel TV shows, let’s be honest, not many of them become pop culture phenomena. However, it seems like WandaVision has managed to do so.

Here are the five best references to the iconic series.

1. DC’s Harley Quinn (Valentine’s Day Special)

In the Valentine's Day special of DC's Harley Quinn, there's a hilarious nod to Marvel's WandaVision. The episode titled A Very Problematic Valentine's Day features a scene where Brett Goldstein says to Bane, “What is horny, if not love persevering?”

That’s a spoof of Vision’s “What if grief, if not love persevering?” line from the Disney Plus’ series.

2. Abbott Elementary

The hit comedy show Abbott Elementary geeks out over Marvel in its Halloween episode. Melissa Schemmenti, one of the teachers, dons a comic book-accurate Scarlet Witch costume, reminiscent of Wanda's. Mr. Johnson, the janitor, has a simple yellow dot on his forehead, hinting at Vision.

3. Gen V

The recently premiered addition to The Boys universe, which is no stranger to poking fun at superhero tropes, Gen V, has a nod to WandaVision. In its first episode, a character named Justine brags about starring in a streaming series that's a "meditation on grief told through 70 years of sitcoms."

Sound familiar? That's because it's a clear reference to WandaVision, Marvel's surreal series that explores Wanda's grief through various sitcom eras.

Do you think WandaVision is a unique Marvel project?

4. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Chalice of the Gods

The sixth novel of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Chalice of the Gods, penned by Rick Riordan, was released on September 26, 2023.

In the book’s chapter 13, the character of Iris asks if her daughter wants to “Binge WandaVision.”

5. Steam 20th Anniversary

Steam, a video game digital distribution service, has posted a longread, related to the platform’s 20th anniversary, and it contains a lot of pop culture references.

One of them is a reference to Agatha’s wink from WandaVision that has since become a meme. On the Steam page, the wink is reprised by The Invoker, the character from Dota 2 and Netflix ’s animated series Dota: Dragon’s Blood.
