5 Actors Who Appeared In Both Young Sheldon And TBBT As Completely Different Characters
How many did you notice?
Having worked with the studio once, it must be easier to get the part second time around. It might not be true for every instance and every show, but it seemed to be a working rule in The Big Bang Theory universe, which is now continued into the Young Sheldon spinoff.
Here are five actors that you might’ve missed on either on of the shows, no matter how different or similar their characters were:
Melissa Tang
Remember the teacher that tested Sheldon’s pitch and tried to make him pursue a music career? Well, her The Big Bang Theory character had a completely different area of interest, as she portrayed a Caltech marine biologist Mandy Chow, who put a strain on Penny and Leonard’s relationship.
Lance Barber
You have probably heard about this one, but he couldn’t be excluded from the list. Before bringing the character of George Cooper to life and making him his own, Lance Barber appeared in The Big Bang Theory in a role of Leonard’s childhood bully. Oh, how the tables have turned!
Teller (and Penn!)
Many viewers speculate that Penny was initially supposed to be called Penny Teller to pay an homage to this comedic duo. Whether that’s true or not we’ll never know, but we know that Teller has appeared on The Big Bang Theory as Amy’s father, and, later on, brought Penn in for Young Sheldon dermatologist cameo as well.
Vernee Watson
The actress has made herself a career by portraying nurses in many different sitcoms, and The Big Bang Theory was not an exception. Luckily, Watson re-appeared again, granting Young Sheldon with her talent too. You probably can guess the part she played without us telling.
Wil Wheaton
Perhaps, the most unexpected out of all is Wil Wheaton. While all The Big Bang Theory fans remember his cameo in the show, pretty much everyone has missed his appearance on Young Sheldon. The photo of young Wheaton can be noticed in a magazine that Missy reads in season 4, episode 11.
