The ending of the series, which made Delena fans rejoice, was undoubtedly a worthy conclusion to the vampire series.
But for some, the ending was too simple, depicting such a popular in Hollywood happy ending. So the fans took matters into their own hands and came up with some more complex endings.
Elena is linked to Stefan instead of Bonnie
In the final episode of the sixth season, Kai casts a terrible spell on Elena and Bonnie. Elena falls into a coma and can only wake up if her best friend dies.
One Redditor suggested their own version, which makes Kai even more sophisticated and cruel, but at the same time brilliant. Instead of Bonnie, Kai could spell Elena and Stefan's lives.
Kai could lie to Salvatore that his girlfriend is bound by a spell with Bonnie, and then Damon would either kill the witch and Elena would not wake up, and then he would lose his best friend and lover at the same time, or Bonnie would continue to live as fate intended, and when she dies, Damon will see that Elena is still in a coma.
Then, if he found out that Elena was sired to Stefan, he would have to make another difficult choice. And who knows what he would have done.
Elena became human, but without Damon
According to this alternate ending, Damon must sacrifice his own happiness in order for Elena to have the normal, peaceful human life that she has always dreamed of.
To do that, Damon has to erase Elena's memory and make her forget about the mystic, the Salvatore brothers, and all the losses in her life. Then Elena could go to college as she wanted and become a doctor.
Katherine didn't become the Queen of Hell
Although most viewers were pleased with how Elena's story ended, Katherine's finale left many with questions.
Fans agree that Katherine should not have gotten such a satisfactory ending, given the amount of trouble she caused for virtually every character on the show.
One Redditor suggested that it would be great to see Katherine in human form again.
An interesting development in the story could be Katherine and Stefan supporting each other, overcoming obstacles together on the way to becoming normal human again.
