The Harry Potter reboot has recently been announced, and the rhetoric surrounding it has been nothing short of a whirlwind!

If you are one of the Potterheads who are planning to boycott this disaster of a remake, listen up: we've got some quality shows for you to watch in the meantime (and yes, each one is a nail-biter).

Lockwood & Co.

It is British (like Harry Potter ). It is based on a series of books of the same name (again, note the similarity). It is so good (unlike the upcoming new Harry Potter).

That is literally all you need to know about Lockwood & Co., but if you want us to go on, fine.

The show is a supernatural detective thriller (say hi to Teen Wolf ) that follows a teenage gang of psychic ghostbusters in an alternate modern-day Britain.

Season 1 of the series premiered on Netflix in January this year to critical acclaim. We don't know anything about season 2, but Lockwood & Co.'s chances are looking good!

The Bureau of Magical Things

If you are bummed about the possibility of your favorite magical story getting botched, but still want more magic in your life, consider this Australian drama show.

It has everything you might want: kids solving the problems that adults should be solving, investigations, magical creatures, and even Muggles (although they are not called like that in the show).

There are already two seasons of The Bureau of Magical Things, and fingers are crossed for seasons 3 and even 4. By the way, you can also watch the show on Netflix!

Unstable

If you need a break from magic, this show might be for you. Season 1 premiered on Netflix last month, and it is a total comedic blast that feels relatable and original at the same time!

Starring Rob Lowe and his son John Owen Lowe, Unstable is the father-son comedy that we deserve.

Socially shy Jackson gets a job at his eccentric dad Ellis' bio-research company, but he has an ulterior motive: he wants to keep his father from going off the deep end after the death of his wife.

Funny, sad, and sometimes both at the same time, this show is worth a watch (if only for Rob Lowe!)

Anyway, we hope that we've helped you through your Harry Potter reboot grief (you are already at acceptance, right?), and now you can distract yourself with some original content (it still exists!).
