Sometimes, when they cancel your favorite show, you feel like they tore your heart apart. There, there, don't we know it.

Every time you don't know whether the TV show you are currently obsessed about gets another season or not, it's like an emotional rollercoaster. Sometimes it has a happy ending and all you have to do is just wait for another season to drop (which is a new level of suffering, but at least you have something to wait for). But sometimes it doesn't.

Television lovers have recalled some of their favorite shows in a Reddit discussion on series that, according to fans, should not have been cancelled so soon. Here is a look at a couple of them.

'Rome'

As put by Reddit fans, 'Rome' walked so 'Game of Thrones ' could run. The historical drama aired on HBO and BBC Two between 2005 and 2007, telling the story of Ancient Rome's transition from Republic to Empire. The majority of its characters are based on the real historical figures, even though the lead protagonists are two fictional soldiers.

A co-production between the UK, Italy, and the US, the show did not manage to secure the third season, even though at least four were planned. A big part of season 3 and 4 budget was telescoped into season 2, and in 2007, the show was cancelled.

'Mindhunter '

Created by Netflix in 2017, 'Mindhunter' is a psychological crime thriller television series based on the 1995 true-crime book 'Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit' penned by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The show focuses on the founding of the Behavioral Science Unit in the FBI in the late 1970s and the development of criminal profiling.

The show only secured two seasons, with Netflix announcing in 2020 that the show was put on an indefinite hold. The company noted that it could revisit it in the future, but as of now, fans are left to dream that the cliffhanger it ended on could be resolved at some point.

Many people agree that the show was arguably the best original series Netflix has ever done.

'Hannibal '

Are old-school fans here? It's time to delve into the memories about the Mads Mikkelsen-led 'Hannibal' — and shed a tear because it only secured three seasons. According to NBC, it was cancelled due to low viewership, even though the original plan was to make at least seven seasons.

Despite its bad figures, the show remains loved by fans. Following Dr. Hannibal Lecter who has very specific food preferences, and the FBI investigator Will Graham, it is a show that tells a story of cunning enemies — and simultaneously a duo that only has each other as someone who understands them.

Even though fans are still mourning the show, the majority of people loved the way it bid adieu.

"It's weirdly one of my favorite love stories of all time. Clearly they have some weird love relationship. It's also one of my favorite endings of all time. So fitting for Will and Hannibal." – /socom52
