3 Times Actors Saved Their Projects By Agreeing to Massive Pay Cuts
When the entire existence of the show is on the line, there's nothing a great cast won't do to save it.
This idea has been proven many times on TV and you would never even imagine that something was wrong with this particular show.
The recent news of Blue Bloods ' 25% pay cut reminded us of other times in movie and television history when actors agreed to take much less in exchange for saving their shows or movies.
Friends
One time the cast of the Friends teamed up to make sure that all six main characters earned the same money.
It's like they weren't kidding, singing "I'll be there for you" in the beginning of each episode.
One day, it turned out that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer were paid more, after their characters started dating.
But they thought it wasn't fair to the rest of the friend group, as they all started with $22,500 per episode when the series began.
So they boycotted the show, until justice prevailed. During season 9 and 10, the entire group was all getting $1 million per episode.
The Devil's Advocate
As one of Hollywood's most talented actors, Keanu Reeves is also known as a genuine "good guy".
He has starred and continues to star in many blockbusters, but one of his most interesting works is the dark comedy/drama named The Devil's Advocate.
In order to get another legendary actor on board for the movie, Reeves had to cut his salary by millions of dollars!
The thing is, he did it voluntarily just so the producers could afford to hire Hollywood's icon Al Pacino for the second lead role in the movie.
In the end, it was all worth it, and the two of them did a fantastic job together.
Wolf of Wall Street
Turned out that the famous actor Jonah Hill took a huge pay cut to be a part of Martin Scorcese's Wolf of Wall Street and after the experience he said he would definitely do it again if needed.
The actor that usually earns millions of dollars on movies, the money he got in Scorcese's film is ridiculously small. In Wolf of Wall Street he only earned $60,000.
But why? It was because he was so humbled to work with the director and said he would have done "whatever it takes" to make it happen.
