3 Sickening Euphoria Scenes That Frankly Almost Crossed The Line

Euphoria is an HBO series that premiered in 2019, and became a hit almost instantly. While the show's title might lead you to expect that it would be all sunshine and rainbows, the reality is that fans got just the opposite from Euphoria's creators.

The Euphoria we got is dark and full of drama that can even be bone-chilling at times, making you want to close your eyes or block out your other senses.

Every main character of the show has his own mental problem (and often there are more than one) that they try to deal with, not necessarily always in a successful way.

Despite all this, fans are generally obsessed with this dark teen drama. Except for a few moments when they thought the writers had gone too far and maybe even crossed the line of what could be shown in the series.

1. Cal and Jules' first time

Well, when the show basically starts with a scene like this, fans quickly come to an understanding of what they are going to get in the next episodes...

The scene we are talking about is the one that happened in a hotel with Jules and Cal, Nate's father.

It was their first meeting ever, and that fact alone made most fans scoff, but what happened next was actually disturbing. Cal's behavior with an underage girl was the epitome of creepiness.

And the later sex scene itself was just hard to watch, not only from a moral point of view, but also because of the camera work. All the close-ups and long takes just made the whole scene horrible.

2. Nate and Tyler… situation

Almost from the beginning of the show, we got the idea that Nate is some kind of disturbing guy. He is dark, full of thoughts, full of hatred towards almost everything except Maddy (we thought).

Well, actually the whole situation was kind of her fault.

The thing is, she actually flirted with Tyler to make Nate jealous. And the brilliant plan worked, just not in the way she apparently expected.

When Nate finds out about their relationship, he simply breaks into Tyler's apartment and beats him almost to death.

This is one of the worst scenes in season 1 of the show and it just proves how mentally complicated Nate is and also highlights the fact that he will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

3. One of many Rue's troubles

In fact, Rue is probably one of the characters that has made fans cringe almost in every episode of every season. But one of the scenes that really made fans feel bad for her was in season 2.

As you can easily guess, it had something to do with her drug addiction.

Fezco was the one who introduced Rue to Laurie, a drug dealer and sex trafficker. Although the woman seemed fine at first, she was actually evil.

This was something Rue discovered herself when the woman demanded that the girl take off all her clothes. And made the demand controlled by Bruce, her henchman, a really dangerous-looking guy.

With a gun to her head, Rue is forced to undress in the shower. And the fact that she's underage doesn't stop that from happening.

And so the scene that we witness is actually one of the most uncomfortable ones that we get in the season.
