3 Reasons For Young Sheldon To Continue Past Season 7

It's always nice not to have to worry about your favorite show getting canceled. As rare as it is in an ever-changing industry, sometimes networks give this gift to the best-performing shows, freeing fans from anxious thoughts by greenlighting several seasons in a row.

Such was the case for fans of Young Sheldon. Back in 2021, CBS showed how serious and appreciative they were of Young Sheldon by renewing the show for three seasons instead of the usual one.

This meant that the show would get 7 seasons for sure, but could still be picked up later. Now that we are in the year 2023 and season 6 has just ended, the audience is getting worried again.

Even though the whole next season is already confirmed and planned, viewers want to go back to the sense of security and try to guess the network's plans for Young Sheldon going forward.

Here are 3 reasons why the majority of fans are convinced that there is more to the story.

Georgie and Maddie

From the entire Cooper's family lore, we know that Georgie and Maddie are not only supposed to get married but also divorced. Of course, like any other piece of canon that doesn't seem to fit the story anymore, this detail could be changed.

But assuming that it won't and that season 6 was basically a buildup to the proposal for these two, it's unlikely that they'll speed through their marriage in one season.

Sheldon's PhD

It would make sense that a show titled after a character would focus on that character's milestones.

Of course, Sheldon really stepped out of the spotlight in the recent Young Sheldon episodes, but given his narration and perspective on the story, it is still possible to predict changes based on his position in life.

Sheldon getting his PhD would be a very fitting ending, but it is certainly more than one season away.

George's arc

It's hard to predict what and when will happen to George, considering that the plot has already been adjusted to better fit this story.

However, many fans believe that something shocking will happen to him at the end of season 7, and they don't want young Sheldon to end like this.

Another season showing how the family deals with the trauma would be just perfect to add on top.
