Phase Four was relatively merciful to our hearts, but now the storm is coming.

Let's face it, with a new threat in the form of Kang the Conqueror on the horizon, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is unlikely to be as peaceful as it was during Phase Four.

Now that we are acquainted with new characters, it may be time to prepare to say goodbye to some of the original gang. Here are the three characters fans are most concerned about.

Scott Lang

With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania premiere just around the corner, fans are trying to keep calm as they realize: Scott Lang, not the strongest Avenger ever, will be the first to deal with Phase Five's new big bad.

The trailer has already dropped enough hints that Scott may not survive his confrontation with Kang the Conqueror.

Will the very first Phase Five movie be so cruel as to kill off a beloved character so soon? Yes, that sounds very Marvel.

Hawkeye

One of the longest serving Avengers in the MCU, Clint Barton has already passed the baton to Kate Bishop as the next Hawkeye, which may or may not be a hint that Jeremy Renner 's character will soon be leaving the MCU.

While he will definitely appear in some of the upcoming Phase Five projects, it's likely that his character will be killed off to give others a reason to stand up to Kang the Conqueror.

With Jeremy Renner currently recovering from a serious injury sustained in a snowplow accident, Hawkeye's future in the MCU remains unclear.

Thor

With four solo films under his belt, Chris Hemsworth 's God of Thunder seems to be one of the OG characters who has seen it all.

With the mixed reviews that Thor: Love and Thunder received, it's highly likely that Phase Five will resolve Thor's character journey once and for all.

Many fans believe that Thor may actually be the one who sacrifices his life to let others win against Kang the Conqueror, similar to what Tony Stark did in Avengers: Endgame.

Besides, let's face it: we need proof that Kang is the most powerful enemy the Avengers have ever faced. What better way to prove that than by killing one of the most powerful Avengers?
