The only thing you can do is just pretend they never happened.

It is pretty normal for any TV show to have its own ups and downs.

Some episodes are there to explore the lore of the world, some are there to fulfill the potential of the character, and some are there to allow the world to breathe and the audience to fully immerse themselves in it.

Not all storylines are as intense as the others, and not all are meant to be.

But there is a big difference between a storyline that doesn't mean much and doesn't follow any emotion and one that was meant to be important but was completely butchered along the way.

Such mishaps do happen, and the shows that have been on the air for many years are much more prone to them. Not to mention shows like General Hospital with an outstanding 60-year run.

Here are 3 storylines that General Hospital fans would rather ignore than acknowledge, and would completely erase from the script if they had the chance.

Nina being Willow's mother

One of the storylines that annoys fans so much that they would like to get rid of it is not only present but seems to be far from over.

Needless to say, viewers didn't like Willow's illness, just like they don't like the whole situation with Nina being her mother. It feels manipulative and just another reason to put Nina on the spot.

Sonny and Emily's romance

Thankfully, this romance was very short-lived, but still so bizarre that fans can't seem to forget it.

It wasn't too surprising that the writers decided to take someone from the older and younger generations and try to mix them together, but it just looked awkward and creepy on screen.

Although many were happy to see Sonny break out of his toxic relationship circle with Carly, they'd be even happier to see him do it with someone in his league.

Luke raping Laura

Any non-consensual sexual encounter is bad enough, but it is even worse when it is used to promote romance.

Even though it happened a long time ago, in 1979, fans still can't believe that someone thought of it and decided that it would be a good plot choice.

No matter how different the times were, some lines should never have been crossed, and this is definitely one of them.
