The series has been praised for its witty writing, hilarious characters, and inclusive representation.

However, there are a few pairings that we didn't get but really wanted to see on the show.

1. Doug Judy and Rosa

One of the most popular characters on the show is Doug Judy, also known as the Pontiac Bandit. Doug is a lovable crook who has a complicated relationship with Jake Peralta.

He has appeared in several episodes and has always been a fan favorite. However, the audience has always wanted to see him in a romantic relationship with Rosa Diaz.

Rosa is known for her tough exterior and no-nonsense attitude. Nevertheless, she has a soft spot for Doug and has even helped him out in the past.

The audience has always wanted to see their bond develop into something more than just a friendship. Sadly, the show never explored this option — to the fandom's great disappointment.

2. Vulture and Gina

A weird suggestion, but fans wanted to see The Vulture and Gina Linetti as a couple. The Vulture was an obnoxious detective who always seemed to get in the way of Nine-Nine's investigations.

Meanwhile, Gina was the unit's sassy civilian administrator who had a knack for delivering snappy one-liners. It's easy to imagine the chaos that would ensue if these two characters were romantically linked.

But the series never pursued the idea, leaving the audience to imagine what might have been.

3. Hitchcock and Amy

An even weirder choice. Finally, fans were eager to see a relationship between Hitchcock and Amy Santiago. Viewers are referring to a joke where a hapless detective said that he and Amy were the same person.

Hitchcock is known for his inappropriate jokes and lack of hygiene, while Amy is a perfectionist who always follows the rules.

They seem like the most unlikely couple, but fans saw the potential for a great comedic dynamic.

All of these couples had the ability to become great pairings, but unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. Still, Brooklyn Nine-Nine remains a beloved show that will always hold a special place in our hearts.
