It seems like there are many names that could be added to the list, you just have to be accurate in your analysis.

When talking about the greatest directors of all time, the average person (we mean not the true cinephile, but the one who enjoys a good movie every now and then) will probably only mention the name of the greatest, Quentin Tarantino.

And to be fair, he would definitely be right, because all of the 9 movies that the director created between 1992 and 2019 are true masterpieces.

That's why we are so pleased to hear that Tarantino is working on his supposedly final film titled The Movie Critic, and hope it would be just the magnificent career conclusion.

But besides him, there are several other names that deserve to be in the same list with the great director. For example, Akira Kurosawa, who directed 30 movies in 50 years, between 1943 and 1993.

The most famous are Rashomon, Seven Samurai, Red Beard and others.

Kurosawa is widely recognized as one of the masters of 20th century filmmaking for his complex storytelling and masterful cinematography. And anyone who has seen at least one of his feature films has become truly addicted to the style.

Another great director is Christopher Nolan. He has directed 12 feature films between 1998 and 2023. Among them are Following, The Prestige, Inception, Interstellar and others. And the latest one from this year, Oppenheimer.

Nolan is famous for shooting his films on 70mm IMAX film to create the largest images possible in cinema, adding to the unparalleled sense of grandiosity in his films.

Another famous director that should be mentioned here is definitely Martin Scorsese. He has directed 26 movies since 1967 until this year.

You may remember his works Raging Bull, Gangs of New York, Shutter Island, and certainly there is hardly anyone who hasn't seen The Wolf of Wall Street.

Scorsese is easily the most celebrated and influential American director of all time. And his upcoming movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, is one of seven films for which he wrote the screenplay himself.
