The movie followed a young parentless girl who found a weird “dog” and took it home, unaware that it wasn’t a dog at all: her new friend was a highly intelligent and potentially dangerous alien experiment hunted by half the Galaxy.
At the time of writing, the 2002’s Lilo & Stitch has a great 87% Critic Score on Rotten Tomatoes and a slightly lower 77% Audience Score. The animated movie was nominated for an Oscar and is largely beloved to this day by fans all over the world, having spawned a TV show following the iconic duo’s adventures.
The upcoming live-action remake better shoot for the stars, because it will be hard to match the original’s success, and we’ve seen one too many remakes lately that failed to do so.
